Handle sensitive images within a PDF workflow
A screenshot or scanned page can expose personal information just as easily as selectable PDF text. CloakDoc supports image conversion and PDF-based inspection, with specific limits.
Supported image tools
The Studio converts JPG, PNG and WebP files into a PDF and exports PDF pages as PNG images. These conversions happen locally. Converting a file alone does not redact sensitive pixels or establish that all metadata has been removed.
Printed identifiers in images
For a screenshot containing printed English identifiers, convert it to PDF and use the batch identifier workflow. OCR can help find supported patterns such as email addresses or phone numbers. Review the converted PDF and final export because OCR can miss or misread content.
What is not implemented
The current Studio does not provide a standalone image-object or face-redaction editor. Faces, signatures, handwriting and arbitrary visual objects are not detected by the identifier rules. An image-sanitization entitlement flag is not evidence of a complete tool in the interface.
Before you share an image
Inspect the surrounding context, visible browser tabs, filenames, badges and background information. If you need arbitrary pixel removal, use a suitable image workflow and verify the flattened export. The PDF manual viewer’s overlay export is not a substitute for removal.
