Find and redact supported personal identifiers

Personal information often repeats across statements, forms and correspondence. Pattern matching helps locate consistent identifiers, while human review catches information that depends on context.

Rules you can select

CloakDoc includes matching rules for email addresses, supported phone formats, hyphenated US Social Security numbers, Aadhaar-like 12-digit sequences, Indian PAN formats and card-number candidates. Card candidates receive a Luhn checksum check; that does not establish that a number belongs to a real card.

Matching a format is not identity verification. A 12-digit sequence can be something other than an Aadhaar number. Phone formatting varies, and an identifier split unusually across a page can be missed.

Build a reviewable workflow

  1. Decide which categories must be removed for your intended recipient.
  2. Select those rules in the batch workflow and use a small representative sample.
  3. With Pro or Enterprise, add a custom regular expression for consistent business identifiers.
  4. Export and inspect the redacted PDF copies.

What automation cannot decide

The rules do not identify every name, address, signature, employment history or sensitive narrative. OCR can mistake letters and numbers. A match count is not proof that a document is safe to share or fully anonymous.

Where your document goes

Matching and page reconstruction take place locally. Batch inputs may persist in browser storage until cleared. The security page explains online licensing and support separately.
